To do this, go to Settings > Notifications > meetings and calls and toggle the Mute Notifications during meeting button. Alternatively, you can hide your video so that you have less distractions on your screen while still having your video appear on others’ screen. You can now pin your own video on the meeting stage, so you can see your own video in a larger format. This changes to Teams chat display where you can change the way you view messages depending on your preference, and Teams meetings where there’s a bigger focus on using meetings more efficiently to make use of the time you have with your team. "And they'd ask my husband, Allen Ludden, they'd ask, 'How close to Betty is Sue Ann?' He said, 'Well, they're the same, except Betty can't cook, of course.'" "She was the neighborhood nymphomaniac," White told "Sunday Morning" in 2011. White played the part hilariously, and became a fixture of the series, winning two of her five Emmy Awards for the role. This is a bit of a non-issue for me, seeing as I’ve always played these games for their gameplay first and story second – but that’s not to say the story isn’t enjoyable, either. Characters, settings, and motives present in numerous games are here, but have been tweaked a bit to better suit this latest entry. While kidnapping is a major plot device across multiple Kunio-kun games, including River City Girls, this game is considered to be more of a spin-off rather than being completely canon to the sub-series. Their boyfriends, Kunio and Riki, have been kidnapped, and the only way to get them back is to bust out of detention, laying out anyone who dares to stand in the way. The plot here is simple – River City High attendees Misako and Kyoko receive a disturbing text message during detention. Having completed the campaign, I can truthfully say that River City Girls, flaws and all, feels like a genuine return to an experience that, three decades prior, played an integral role in kick-starting my love for the RPG genre. This time however, the boys have been captured, and the girls must fight to get them back. The most recent title in the series, River City Girls, has you diving back into the mean streets of River City. I can eat food to increase stats in order to power up my character? I can read books that teach me legit ninja moves? I can equip the finest pair of cowboy boots to sprint like a madman? I did not completely understand what these things were at the time, but it wouldn’t be long until I realized it was all I wanted in games.Īlthough the Kunio-kun series has been going strong for many years in Japan, the West has only received a handful of releases. Although I realize actual, legitimate story modes are more common in fighting games these days, that wasn’t always the case.īut the reason I’ve always been so fond of River City Ransom is because it combined these mechanics with new and interesting concepts- at least, new to me at the time. There was just something about how those beat’em ups were built that really clicked with me – the flashy animations certainly helped, as did their easy-to-understand narratives. My first foray into the scene – River City Ransom – took place before I began grade school, and I frequented games like of Turtles in Time, Final Fight, Golden Axe, Sonic Blast Man, and even The Tick for many years thereafter. But the girls (and guys) aren’t just giving up they’re fighting back with new stat-altering accessories, new items, new weapons, and additional moves (such as Kyoko’s Cartwheel Kick and Misako’s Lightning Rider), along with brand-new abilities like guard-crush attacks and lift-off combos. The beat ’em up genre and I go way back – I mean, way back. Picking up where its predecessor left off, River City Girls 2 throws hot-blooded high-schoolers Misako, Kyoko, Kunio, and Riki-along with newcomers Marian and Provie-into the fight of their lives when an old foe returns to wreak havoc. More moves, more action, and more over-the-top brawls for you to get in on! You can learn all about it in the video above. Not surprisingly, WayForward is going even further with River City Girls 2. The original River City Girls offered a ton of variety for a beat’em-up. In the video above, we get a very deep look at the combat in River City Girls 2. While we wait for that, WayForward has shared a new look at the game via a development live-stream. River City Girls 2 is coming to Switch sometime this year, but we don’t have a locked-in release date yet. 4 January 2021 – PM announces third national lockdown 30 December – Most of country moved to tier fourĪlmost 80 per cent of the population is now in tier four as the new variant spreads beyond the South East, meaning lockdown measures are essentially in place for the majority of England. If not, why then wasn't their curiosity piqued by those pushing past to reach some unseen objective to their rear? Were they, themselves, aware of the true nature of reality just above their heads? Were they acting on behalf of a higher authority? Had they something to gain from keeping those within the cave ignorant about the world beyond? Why did the shadow makers perform their task? Am I remembering this correctly? Because I have always been curious about that specific element. If memory serves, their one and only function within the cave was to project shadows onto the cave wall. As such, I can't recall Plato mentioning any direct interaction between the shadow makers and the cave's deluded inhabitants. I've read The Allegory of the Cave but many years ago. Even if we assume that those returning simply yelled over their heads to the remaining wall gazers, this would then mean that those agitated inhabitants instead breached the shadow makers to clash with the awakened ones just beyond. Upon fully awakening and returning to share the truth of reality beyond the cave, it would once more prove necessary to contend with the shadow makers. One would need, for no discernable reason, to stand up and turn 180° to face the rear of the cave.įor a closer inspection of the newly discovered hole, one would have to first make their way over or through the shadow makers. Looking at the cave's layout, to even discover the opening required a concerted effort that would transcend mere curiosity. Always wondered why the shadow makers did nothing to intervene. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is among the most beloved games of all time, and you can play it on Switch. However, one major multiplayer game will work without a subscription: Fortnite is playable online even if you don't have an active online subscription. If you want to visit a friend's island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons or battle your buddies in Super Smash Bros. The most basic perk of Nintendo Switch Online is online multiplayer gaming. The Expansion Pack tier doesn't add any restrictions for subscribers on family plans, so it'll work the same way as it does on the basic tier. It's possible for the administrator to set other accounts in the plan as "supervised," letting them restrict eShop purchases and viewing, as well as reviewing sign-in history. You'll just revert to a single-account subscription if it's still active, or you'll need to sign up for a new subscription if not. The administrator account doesn't get control over the other people's accounts and you can leave whenever you want. The person who sets up the account pays the subscription fee and is designated as the administrator and parent or guardian, giving them the ability to add or remove people to and from the plan. The family plan lets you create a group of up to eight Nintendo accounts across multiple Switch systems and gives each person unrestricted access to Switch Online's features. Does the Nintendo Switch Online family plan have restrictions? There are no options for paying monthly or for three months, so you have to commit for a year. An individual membership costs $50 for a year, while a family plan subscription costs $80. The Expansion Pack is considerably more expensive than basic subscription. This gives you access to a larger library of classic games, from the N64 and Genesis, along with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC expansion. You also have another option: a Nintendo Switch Online plus Expansion Pack subscription. It lets up to eight people play online, use cloud saves and access the SNES and NES libraries and other basic features for a year. You could also opt for the $35 family plan, which is designed for households with a bunch of people who want their own accounts. The basic plan will set you back $4 (£3.49, AU$6) for a month, $8 for three months or $20 for a year. How much does Nintendo Switch Online cost? It also includes support for cloud backup of game data, access to the Nintendo Switch phone app and a few exclusive offers. Ultimate and trade with fellow trainers in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The service lets you race against faraway friends in Mario Kart 8, battle distant rivals in Super Smash Bros.
